A Note from the Director: I know there are many versions of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol out there. This is my favorite. It is actually the radio version from the 1930s starring Lionel Barrymore. Since it is in radio script form, I intend to stage this as a modified Readers' Theater. That means the actors will be seated and they will have their scripts in front of them. Therefore:
• The script will not have to be memorized
• Costuming will be suggestive
• No sets, just lighting
• No blocking or movement, just characters moving up
to the microphone(s)
It's a drama, it's a morality play, it's a comedy, it's a love story, it's a period play, it's a play with some songs added.
At auditions, I need to hear you sing. Come prepared to sing your favorite Christmas carol or holiday song. It's a big show. I need to cast the following roles:
1. Narrator
