Arena Fair is Delaware's Community Theater. Every great mid-American city needs a performing ground for the public to present great works and theater through the prism of the community. This can be done through works of American musical theater, plays and musical revues. We are just here to tell a story and we are first-rate storytellers.
Arena Fair started with a feeling that every community should celebrate with a summer musical. With the help of the Ohio Wesleyan University, United Way, and Delaware City Schools, Arena Fair has staged some of the best musicals of the past half century. Arena Fair musicals have something for all ages - performers and patrons.
Realizing that not all actors can sing, Delaware needs straight drama penned by some of the great authors of the American theater. To showcase our talents we used the name of the settlement that the great Delaware chief founded on the banks of the Olentangy River which became the city of Delaware. With the help of many city partners, we’ve met our challenges for staging in unusual venues, so that where we perform is almost as interesting as the play itself.
Sometimes you just want to hear great music sung by our best singers. With musical tributes to Richard Rodgers, Lerner and Lowe, Disney and Irving Berlin, we have custom-designed shows for the discriminating tastes of American musical theater patrons.
